Far Eastern University (FEU) bagged two awards at the Commission on Higher Education (Ched) 2008 National Search for Best Student Services Program Award. FEU was honored with the Outstanding Student Services Program (national level) and Best Student Services Program in National Capital Region (regional level) by Ched.
Fourteen regional winners from public and private higher education institutions all over the Philippines participated in the event at the National College for Public Administration and Governance Assembly Hall of the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City on April 17.
The Ched-BSSPA Search recognizes and awards institutions whose outstanding student services programs were developed and implemented in support of the students' academic development and success as envisioned by the provisions of Ched Memorandum Order 21 (Guidelines on Student Affairs and Services Programs).
On March 4, the Ched Validating Team, composed of the search's Technical Working Group, visited FEU to evaluate and authenticate the university's submitted document-entry/narrative report. Heads and representatives of the FEU-SAS team (Admissions and External Relations Office, Athletics Department, Campus Ministry, Computer Services Department, Facilities and Technical Services, Office of Student Affairs and Community Services, President's Committee on Culture, Registrar, Security and Safety Department, University Counseling and Career Office and University Health Services), together with president Lydia B. Echauz, vice president for academic affairs Miguel Carpio and assistant vice president for academic affairs Cecilia Anido, were in attendance during the presentation and exhibit of evidences and materials at the PCC conference room.
